Environmental standards have risen rapidly in recent years,
not least in the field of art materials, where "greener"
products have become available to take the place of older
unsafe ones (like heavy metal based pigments). We comply with
statutory requirements, and where possible exceed them, in
providing and using products which are less damaging to the
environment and providing information to help artists raise
their environmental standards.
Our day to day practice is designed to make as much use of
our resources as possible. From basic good housekeeping practices
like reusing packaging materials and redundant paperwork,
converting offcuts to useful stock and use of low energy lighting
through to a conscious replacement of traditional solvent
based materials in our picture framing department with waterbased
environmentally friendly materials.
